Maximilian Hörmeyer was born in 1989. He started playing the violin at the age of four.

In 1998 he started his studies at the University „Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst“ in Vienna as a student in the class of Marina Sorokova.

In 2006 he attended the „Hochschule für Musik Saar“ in the class of Mr Johannes Kiefel. After finnishing his Bachelor degree with Christoph Poppen Maximilian went on to study with Zakhar Bron and finnished the Master degree at ZHdK Zurich (Switzerland). He added another Master degree in Piano Duo with Evgeni Sinaiski at Folkwang Hochschule Essen, Germany.

 

During 2013-2015 he was the Concertmaster of Mannheim Philharmonic Orchestra performing in internationally renowned venues like Madrid Auditorio Nacional, Gasteig Munich and Tonhalle Zurich.

From 2018-2021 Maximilian Hoermeyer was the 1st Concertmaster of the TheaterPhilharmonieThüringen Germany.

In 2021 he became 1st Concertmaster at Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Beside that he has been the Guest-Concertmaster at the Orchestra de la Suisse romand and the New Generation Festival Firenze.

Maximilian Hörmeyer is evertime very passionate also about chamber music, playing with partners like Hanna Bachmann, Christoph Croisé or Alexander Panfilov.

 

 

Competitions

In 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 he took part regularly in the German Competition „Jugend musiziert“  as a solo-violinist as well as in chamber-music. In all of these competitions Maximilian won the 1st prize at federal- and national-level. 2008 he got the 2nd prize at violin competition in Shanghai and the 3rd prize at the Hindemith Competition in Berlin.

 

Concerts

In 2003 he got an invitation to the Music-Festival in Kaunas (Lithuania), where he gave his debut with the Lithuanian Festival Orchestra; Conductor Pavel Berman. Maximilian was working with international renowned musicians like Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Maxim Vengerov, Nicolas Chumachenko, Evgeny Sinaisky and Leonid Sorokov.
